Let there not be apocalypse later but apocalypse now!
Ezra 6:1 - King James Version (KJV)
<1> Then Darius the king made a decree, and search was made in the house of the rolls, where the treasures were laid up in Babylon.
Ephesians 3:16 - King James Version (KJV)
<16> That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
Obviously the treasures kept in the house of the rolls are books. As it says elsewhere, "Surely I come! In the roll of the book it is written of me"; and of course it is Him, since He is where riches of His truth are to be found, and He is where the alignments with divine order which are good also are to be found. That is, to be conscientious from the heart is not possible without partaking of His flesh, appropriating to that degree His body.
And any other good or truth of His is so powerful and penetrating that to align with it, to practice that truth, is to partake of the bread and the wine; and we partake of literal bread and wine also, in remembrance of Him and of the X and Y of Him and the universe.
But as to these riches... Where do we see the riches of Christ mentioned other than in Ephesians? We see it also in Revelation, in the chapter concerned with the worthiness of the Lamb to open the book sealed with seven seals: Revelation 5:6-7
Revelation 5:6-7 - King James Version (KJV)
<6> And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. <7> And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.
Revelation 5:12 - King James Version (KJV)
<12> Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
Let us look at what the Writings say about this verse and passage generally: "That 'riches' signify the cognitions of good and truth, and thus knowledge, may be seen above (n. 206); consequently, when predicated of the Lord, they signify Omniscience; and that 'honour and glory', when predicated of the Lord, signify Divine Good and Divine Truth, [see] above n. 249" (Apocalypse Revealed 288).Now let us look deeper at one of the expressions used in the following verse from the same passage:
Revelation 5:5 - King James Version (KJV)
<5> And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
Speaking of this verse the Writings reveal "the signification of "the Root of David," as being Divine truth; for by "David" in the Word the Lord in respect to Divine truth is meant (see above, n. 205). Therefore "of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David," means the Lord in respect to Divine good united to Divine truth in His Human" (Apocalypse Explained 310). Let us then consider this unity of the charity or root married to the truth of David in relation to the same verse from Ephesians to which one also returns, for it reveals the real Paul no less! and besides much more. It is from after all Paul's extremely careful answer key for the loving so that these may understand prophecy. One cannot stress enough the importance of this verse in relation to the rest of the chiastic sequence of marriages (eg honour and glory) and adulteries (eg shame and contempt) so my apologies for quoting it quite so frequently but it is so important: Ephesians 3:16
Ephesians 3:16 - King James Version (KJV)
<16> That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
"according to the riches of his glory" = David; "strengthened with might" = root;
For root is charity, and branch is truth. Do we see any particular mention of branch in relation to David? Of course we do. We do because God put it there: Isaiah 11:1-2
Isaiah 11:1-2 - King James Version (KJV)
<1> And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: <2> And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord;
If none of this fascinates your heart or your mind, preferably both, than one has no idea what to do with you. Take it! I cannot stress enough how important this message is. It is beyond one's ego and written from beyond. "All things are yours", if you can understand and practice it, if "according to the riches of his glory" you can "strengthen with might in the inner man"; if by the truths of His glory you can implement the alignment with divine order which is His might.
In the context of all the above, consider the following unfortunates about whom you might otherwise think but little in passing:
Mark 4:16-17 - King James Version (KJV)
<16> And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; <17> And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.
We have already seen how stony ground, the negative context of which is evident enough, pertains also to truth in its mention of stone; the like kind of mention of stone, or truth, occurs with "hail"; which likewise signifies truth without love, faith without charity, and consequently the rupture of covenant, the disjunction, the breach, the adultery and whoredom. For we here see "have no root in themselves", and it is evident that we shall see not "stem of Jesse, and a branch" growing out of the absence of a root! And of course we see that those who break the covenant are "burnt up root and branch" in Malachi.
Now then. We have seen how riches are the spiritual knowledge with which we implement good, strengthening with might in growing more loving "according to the riches of his glory". Let us now look at a very familiar story in the context of all that has been revealed in the Word of God, that the book may come alive in our hearts and minds; and that glory may light up the clouds of the Word in your reading thereof.
Luke 16:19-20 - King James Version (KJV)
<19> There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: <20> And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
The rich man is the Old Church, any Old Church, which has been entrusted with the Word but fallen from understanding and practicing the same. Let us consider the purple and fine linen, the love and truth with which the rich man "was clothed"; these are the inverted versions of the purple and fine linen which are the bridegroom and bride sounding joyously. You want the purple love of God and the fine linen of His truth in the upright position as a marriage, not in the inverted position as an adultery and the Whore.
The beggar Lazarus is the New Church, any New Church; and these are the "others" meant by God in Luke 20:16:
Luke 20:16 - King James Version (KJV)
<16> He shall come and destroy these husbandmen, and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, God forbid.
These "others" are the New Church; the new Heaven and new Earth, the new bottle and new wine. These "others" are the dogs who eat of the crumbs that fall from the children's table; for the children in that brief episode of the Lord's with the Syro-Phoenician mother are likewise the Old Church, any Old Church; and the dogs are the New Church, any New Church. One cannot stress enough the importance of knowing both the Heavenly marriages and their reversals and the passing the baton symbolism of prophetic cycle; for without these, without the Lamb, you will not pass the angel with the flaming sword which flicks from side to side from one mistake interpretation of the literal to another; you will not understand the prophecies of God.
Deuteronomy 28:32 - King James Version (KJV)
<32> Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given unto another people, and thine eyes shall look, and fail with longing for them all the day long; and there shall be no might in thine hand.
Do you see the passing the baton symbolism? Do you see the morning that cometh and also the night?
Isaiah 21:12 - King James Version (KJV)
<12> The watchman said, The morning cometh, and also the night: if ye will enquire, enquire ye: return, come.
The morning of Lazarus cometh, and also the night of Dives. If ye will enquire, enquire ye: return, come. The morning of Noah's ark cometh, and the night of the nephilim. The morning of the Christian Church cometh, and the night of the Jewish Church.
Let us look at Lazarus and Dives a second time:
Luke 16:19-21 - King James Version (KJV)
<19> There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: <20> And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, <21> And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
Goodness, the rich man does not seem particularly concerned about the beggar covered in sores laid at his gate, does he? I do not see the place where he even notices him prior to material death. Where have we seen that before? We have seen it in the priest and the Levite who passed him robbed by spiritual robbers and left for dead. We have seen it in the spiritual robbers themselves. We have seen it in the scribes, Pharisees, and Sadducees, those notably foolish virgins without oil in their lamps, those stony plots of land in which there can be root, those proud units which are burnt up root and branch.
Without oil, do you say? Yes, of course. There was no oil in their lamps to pour into the wounds of him who was robbed. There was no root for their hardness of heart, the stony plots of their land.
Revelation 21:23-25 - King James Version (KJV)
<23> And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. <24> And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. <25> And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
And the truth of God did lighten the Church; and the Lamb is the way, the truth and the light thereof. And the nations -- predicated of goods and affections for good in the natural -- shall walk in the light of it; for the nations, the goods, shall be informed by truths of the Church; "according to the riches of his glory" "strengthened by might in the inner man". There can be no mistake. The Lord has visited us again.
Exodus 4:31 - King James Version (KJV)
<31> And the people believed: and when they heard that the Lord had visited the children of Israel, and that he had looked upon their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshipped.
Of this "look[ing] upon their affliction" we read, ""To know their affliction" signifies to see that they are in falsities, and "to know their poverty" signifies to see that they are not in goods, for in the Word, "affliction" is predicated of falsities (as above, n. 33); and "poverty" of the lack of goods; spiritual poverty is nothing else" (Apocalypse Revealed 95).
We have already seen numerous instances of morning cometh and also the night symbolism, and of course here we have one more: the morning of the Children of Israel cometh, and also the night of Pharaoh and His army. This is the crossing on dry ground and drowning thereof respectively.
But how did He come? He came to them by way of an intermediary, not as the incarnate Jesus born in Bethlehem but as the truths which He conveyed to Moses the man of God. He frequently does make use of such an intermediary, who in that case conveys these truths. But the intermediary is not those truths, is not the Spirit of Truth. Beyond some mere intermediary there is the Coming of God as the Spirit of Truth:
<12> I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. <13> Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. <14> He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
Hmm! Do you notice a mention of glory, by any chance?
I do. I see a mention of glory, which we know to be predicated of truth; and which we know to have everything to do with the power and glory with which the Son of Man comes in the clouds of the Word.
Yes, neighbors, this passage concerns nothing less than the 2nd Coming of God.
2 Kings 6:17 - King James Version (KJV)
<17> And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
And behold, the love which is strengthening in His might was strengthened according to the riches of His glory, the truths whereby we implement love.
Let us then implement His loves with the truths which set us free! One knows not what to say to anyone who can read something this beyond and above everyone of us without exception and remain unmoved.
Hear, O Israel, the inner meaning of the Word of God. Let there not be apocalypse later but apocalypse now! May God open your eyes, that the mountain of your love may be full of horses and chariots which are the understandings and doctrines supportive of love, " that your love may abound in all knowledge" (Philippians 1:9).
Amen.
